A PADI IDC Staff Instructor is an experienced PADI Instructor who has received specialized training to assist PADI Course Directors in Instructor Development Courses (IDCs). This enhanced role allows you to:

• Independently teach & certify PADI Assistant Instructors (AI).
• Deliver AI-level Academic, Confined Water, and Open Water presentations.
• Evaluate IDC Candidates’ presentations and skill demonstrations.
• Provide valuable mentorship and counseling to instructor candidates.
• Assist in professional-level Continuing Education courses, such as Specialty Instructor training.

As an IDC Staff Instructor, you will develop in-depth evaluation and counseling skills, playing a key role in shaping the next generation of PADI Instructors.

• Assist Course Directors in teaching IDCs, evaluating candidate performance, and conducting skill workshops.
• Conduct PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) Courses independently.
• Mentor IDC candidates, providing guidance on teaching techniques, knowledge development, and skills demonstration.
• Evaluate Confined and Open Water Teaching Presentations using PADI evaluation criteria.
• Conduct Continuing Education Programs for dive professionals.

To enroll in the PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course, you must:

• Be a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT).
• Be a current PADI Instructor in Teaching Status.
• Have a valid Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor rating.
• Have conducted a minimum number of certifications as required by PADI.
