Emergency First Response Instructor
A key professional-level certification within the PADI system

Are you ready to elevate your expertise while making a real impact? The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor Course is your gateway to becoming a confident and capable emergency responder. Whether you work in the dive industry or simply want to be prepared for real-world emergencies, this certification equips you with vital lifesaving skills that can be applied both underwater and on land.
Emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere. The ability to provide CPR, first aid, and emergency care is an invaluable skill for any individual looking to help others in need. As an EFR Instructor, you won’t just learn these skills; you’ll be able to teach them worldwide, making a direct impact on your community and professional network.
By teaching EFR courses in schools, gyms, corporate settings, and other community locations, you’ll help individuals gain essential lifesaving knowledge that can truly make a difference. But beyond that, becoming an EFR Instructor also opens doors to networking and professional growth. Every course you teach increases your visibility, helping you build trust and credibility in your local community and beyond.
This role is also a powerful tool for dive instructors—teaching EFR courses is a great way to connect with potential students who may later enroll in your diving courses. By demonstrating your expertise in safety and emergency response, you establish yourself as a reliable instructor, encouraging people to take the next step into diving and professional training with you.
The PADI EFR Instructor Course is a 1-day, hands-on training program designed to transform you into a skilled emergency first responder and instructor. The course is divided into two key components:
1. Theory Sessions
Understanding Primary and Secondary Care
Learning how to handle life-threatening emergencies (e.g., non-breathing patient, shock, spinal injuries)
Managing non-life-threatening conditions (e.g., fractures, bleeding, burns)
Teaching methodologies to effectively train others in CPR and First Aid
Familiarization with AED (Automated External Defibrillator) usage
2. Practical Skills Development
CPR Training with professional manikins
Hands-on practice in rescue breaths and chest compressions
Bandaging and splinting techniques for injury stabilization
Role-playing emergency scenarios for real-life application
Managing an unconscious patient and assessing emergency situations
The PADI EFR Instructor Course is open to:
